The "piston" is a custom housing that supports three Cree (or Seoul Semiconductor) emitters on screw-in heat sinks. The rear hatch houses the bFlex configurable driver with my bicycle-specific UI. My unit has three tritium vials around the actuator button, as well as tritium tubes in the fins - only because I'm cool and have great friends that know how to work a CNC machine. :). Mounted with a stout cam-style quick-release, and powered by a ~14V Li-Ion pack. (still trying to figure out the best way to mount that battery!)
Here it is ON. Tough shot to take - this was done on its lowest
setting.. Driven at 1000mA, this will give most HID lights a run for their
money. Yes, it is that bright. The best part though, is full dimming control,
and insanely long runtimes when you dial it down.

Here is the back open to show the bFlex holder, the wire exit
and the back of the screw-in heat-sinks.
On the Voodoo. Three levels. 75mA. 200mA. 750mA
With my helmet light illuminating the handlebars. I keep expecting
Alice, or at least a white rabbit to come jumping out of Wonderland!
On low to avoid washing out the pictures.
And finally, a little movie.
